A non-vintaged Gamay made through a collaboration of Philippe Jambon and his fellow Beaujolais grape grower, Gerard Belaid. Belaid runs a farm in Marchampt that has been organic since 1989 and along with a few of his neighbors have adapted to making natural wines with help from Jambon that have no additives and in the case of this wine, no added sulfites.
From the mouth of the importer (Percy Selections):
"Despite experimentation, there are at least two constant maxims: no additives of any kind are used and the wines are not bottled until they are absolutely ready. In reality, these two are one and the same, for Philippe believes that long élevage in barrel helps mitigate the so-called “faults” associated with zero-SO2 winemaking."
