Stoumen is a winemaker for the Living Wines Collective but also has her own line of wines that have proved to be exceptional examples of what is possible with the heritage varieties of California. Her Teal Drops rose is old vine Zinfandel and Carignan from northern California made with minimal intervention: no chemicals in the vineyards, wild yeast ferment and hardly any sulfur is applied.
Notes from the producer:
"Whole cluster pressed with minimal skin contact, this wine is far more about texture and tertiary characteristics than its typical fruity rosé sisterhood. Fermented and aged sur lie in neutral oak barrels, this is a rosé you’ll want to pair with your meal in addition to drinking as an aperitif. Mineral, saline, textured."
