Jean-Claude Rateau began working his vines organically as soon as he graduated winemaking school in the 1970s. In Burgundy this made him a true pioneer. He has made it a mission to pass on his organic and biodynamic techniques to younger winemakers. His Hautes Cotes de Beaune is his entry-level red, made from vines grown on clay, marne and limestone parcels. Acidity and minerality blend to make an utterly quaffable Pinot Noir.
