A highly atypical New Californian blend of Trousseau and Zinfandel. The winery also uses very little doses of SO2, if any, in its wines.
Notes from the producer:
"Got Grapes is a series we started for wines that we made from a busy harvest year (unintentionally) that turned out to be something very special. For this bottling, we played off the old vine Zinfandel vineyards planted in California - where old Trousseau vines were planted and intermixed amongst the Zinfandel vines. 100% destemmed and fermented on the skins. After 2 weeks, we pressed into neutral French oak barrels. Blended in barrel and left to age for 8 months.
Both the Trousseau and Zinfandel vines come from old plant material that was newly grafted at Wirth Ranch Vineyard. Wirth Vineyard is dry-farmed and located in Solano County’s Green Valley. There is no use of chemicals, pesticides or herbicides in the vineyard."
