A complex, fruity and dry rose made of Sangiovese. Sanguineto is an illustrious producer of rich red wines from the town of Montepulciano in Tuscany, and for the first and maybe only time released a rose wine. A darker rose that pairs brilliantly with food.
From the mouth of the importer (David Bowler):
"2016 is Sanguineto's first vintage of pink wine. Dora rents and works these vines, not far from the home estate outside of Montepulciano, just as she does the home vines: by hand, purely organically, and with meticulous care. There are two main branches of of the Sangiovese family: Piccolo and Grosso. While Sanguineto's Rosso and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano reds are based on the superior Grosso (specifically in the form of the famous local Prugnolo Gentile), Piccolo is better suited for this deeply colored, direct-press, full, juicy rosato."
