Full bodied, dry and fruity red from Southern California. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with 20% Cabernet Franc primarily from the Happy Canyon AVA and the remainder from the Solvang area. Hand harvested grapes that are fermented with native yeasts in open topped tanks. Aged in oak, 15% new French wood.
From the mouth of the importer (Polaner):
"In our constant search for wines that over deliver in quality for the price, we were lucky to get in on the “ground” floor of of this exciting, new project founded by John Kochis. John's experience in the Southern California wine industry has allowed him to assemble small lots of premium and create Ground Effect. The goal for Ground Effect label is to produce a wine that is serious but approachable in its youth and to bottle a dynamic Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Ynez that exceeds expectations and price point.
The Ground Effect Cabernet shows nice ripeness of rich, dark berry and stone fruits with hints of herbs and spice. It's has a beautiful palate impression with depth and intensity of flavor while remaining bright on the finish."
