An unusual New Zealand blend of Malbec, Syrah and Viognier. Lighter than any Argentine Malbec, this wine is somewhere between a Cotes-du-Rhone and Cahors red. Medium-bodied, ripe blue fruit and earthy herbs. Certified biodynamic farming, native yeast ferment, farmed without irrigation, and very low sulfur additions.
Notes from the producer:
James Millton has crafted this unique blend of red wine for the enjoyment of many people. A marriage of Malbec and Syrah with a a splash of Viognier. Dark and brooding with lifted spice, tingling aromas quite unique to this wine and its own natural surroundings. The taste is dense but alive with mint, chocolate, Asian spice, and warmth of a feather pillow for a fatigued head.
This gorgeous wine is a blend of Malbec grown at Te Arai, Syrah grown at Opou and Viognier grown at Riverpoint. There is dark leather and black pepper with a tingling aroma of lifted spice, eucalyptic character, unique to this wine and its own natural surroundings. The taste is lifted and alive with mint, chocolate, Asian spice, and warmth of feather pillow for a fatigued head. Not too dense. Unfined and bottled on the property, without filtration.
