From the Cotes de Duras in the Southwest of France near Bordeaux. In fact this red is a blend of all the red varieties they grow, all of which are also grown in Bordeaux: Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), Malbec (5%).
From the mouth of the importer (Avant-Garde Wines):
"The lovely proprietors, Jean-Mary and Catherine le Bihan are farmers. Today, they organically grow cereals, sunflowers and raise Arabian horses. They own 27 ha of vines spread in many different parcels. Their first vintage was in 2000. The goal is to make honest wine as naturally as possible. Therefor, all the efforts are centered on the vineyards, old vines, managed yields, plowing of the soil, no chemicals (except copper and sulfur), manual harvest in small basket, strict sorting. The estate is certified organic and going through biodynamic certification. In the cellar, minimum intervention is the way to do, only indigenous yeasts, no other entrants except SO2 at the bottling."
