A region sometime overlooked for white wines, Bandol could be considered an equal of Chateauneuf-du-Pape blancs. Organically farmed vineyards established in the 1970s on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. The local soils are rich in limestone, an excellent source of sharp minerality. 55% Clairette and 45% Ugni Blanc, all hand harvested grapes from low yielding vines.
From the mouth of the importer (Weygandt-Metlzer):
"A unique gift from the Mourvèdre capitol of France, this small production Bandol Blanc consists of Clairette and Ugni Blanc. Entirely hand-harvested at low yields of just 34hL/ha. The nose combines notes of coriander, dill and white peaches. In the mouth, Ugni, bourboulenc and cabernet give vivacity, minerality and develop notes of citrus, quince and white flowers. Clairette gives structure, richness and fennel aromas of white peaches and hops."
