An atypical Muscadet, completely dry, left hazily unfiltered and with a few days of skin-contact. A lightly orange wine made of Melon de Bourgogne didn't pass the appellation standards, hence the wine is just a Vin de France but that is just because it wasn't usual enough. USDA certified organic fruit and little to no sulfites used in the winemaking. A midly funky, very interesting bottle of Loire white.

"In the 1960’s, Michel Couillaud gradually converted his father’s polyculture farm into a vineyard. At the turn of the century, Alain and Christian, took over the operations with Alain Couillaud as the winemaker. The new generation brought with them the spirit of the novitiate by joining the respect for traditions with forward thinking. The new era of Le Haut-Planty was marked by the conversion to organic viticulture and an embrace of the natural winemaking philosophy.
Located in the heart of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, between the mildness of the Loire river and the freshness of the Atlantic ocean, Le Haut-Planty is situated on the best hillside of Le Landreau. Practicing organic since 2007, the Couillaud family got certified in 2015. They vinified several cuvees without any sulfites added. Organic vineyard, nothing added into the cellar except some sulfites when necessary, Haut-Planty vinifies in the most naturally way possible."
