In a region saturated with highly regarded but dominated by modern industrial agriculture, Château Massereau has taken an unusual step for a Bordeaux producer and gone fully organic. A blend of the local varieties of 40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet sauvignon, 10% Cabernet franc and 10% Petit Verdot, Cuvee X is produced without any added sulphites.

"Philippe and Jean-François Chaigneau are two brothers and young winemakers who purchased in 1999 Chateau Massereau. They thrive in reviving the old style of bordeaux they used to drink with their grandparents and it’s by love for this identity that they took over this Chateau from the Barsacquais and craft Bordeaux Supérieur, red Graves and Barsac."
